01 What to expect

Come ready to try it.

Expect an instructor-led, hands-on room. Session-specific setup and booking details will arrive with the programme.

  • Hands-on, not another talk

You will follow along and try the work yourself. Proposers mark their session as a workshop so the review board can assess it as one.

  • Bring a laptop and charger

Any software or setup needed in advance will be published with each accepted session, before you arrive.

  • Seats and booking are not set yet

Workshops are capped by their rooms. Capacity and whether you need to reserve a place will be published with the programme.

  • Included with a full ticket

There is no workshop add-on. Each full conference ticket includes day one; the competitor-only CTF pass does not include workshops.

Duration
150 min The proposal format. The final timetable slot may change.

Equipment in the room

Questions

A tiered lecture theatre part-way through a session. Someone in the middle rows is on their feet with a microphone, asking a question. In the front row another person turns and looks up at them, laughing, and the rows behind are full of people at open laptops on long wooden benches.
Laptops already open, and somebody on their feet to ask.

02 The lineup

The 0x03 workshop lineup will live here.

No workshops announced

Sessions are selected through the same CFP as talks. Names begin appearing from 25 January 2027, after every applicant has heard directly. Setup and seat details will follow each accepted session.

Try a village on day two

Villages run alongside the talks on Sunday. Drop in without booking a workshop; they do not clash with Saturday's sessions.

Competing in the CTF final?

The on-site final shares Saturday with workshops. If you qualify, you will need to choose how to spend that day. The CTF page has the qualifier details.

The CTF
A classroom seen from the back row. At the front, someone stands at a whiteboard covered in a hand-drawn diagram and reaches up to point at it, next to a wall screen showing a slide headed Understanding Enumeration in Active Directory. A dozen people sit at desks between the camera and the board, coats on.
Enumeration in Active Directory, on the board and on the screen.
The same kind of room, with a terminal filling the wall screen at the front. A command has just been run and its output is scrolling. People sit at desks in front of it, several with their own laptops open at the same prompt.
A terminal on the wall, and the room following it.
The first desks of a workshop room from the side. Four people sit along a bench with a laptop open between two of them, all four looking up and past the camera towards the front of the room.
The first desks, part-way through.
A wider view of a classroom in session, rows of desks running back from the front, most of the seats taken. Every head in the frame is turned the same way, towards the front of the room and out of shot.
A classroom following the session together.
A bright room with daylight along one wall. Someone stands at the front beside a laptop on a desk, mid-sentence with one hand raised, talking to people seated at desks along the window.
Mid-explanation, from the side of the room.
A row of desks photographed along its length, so the people at it are seen one behind another in profile. Laptops and notebooks are open in front of them and all of them are looking left, towards the front of the room.
One row, side on, following along.

03 Questions

Asked more often than anything else.

Which workshops are running at 0x03?

None are announced, and none are being kept quiet. Workshops are read in the same queue as the talks, so the first one cannot be named until everyone who submitted has heard back. Submissions run from 25 October 2026 to 6 December 2026, everybody is told by 15 January 2027, and workshop announcements begin 25 January 2027. Each session appears here with what to install before you arrive.

Do the workshops cost extra?

No. There is no training ticket, no add-on and no second checkout. Any of the three ticket types covers every workshop. The only other pass sold is the ₹799 competitor pass for CTF finalists, and that buys the final rather than the workshops.

Which day are the workshops on?

Day one, Saturday 3 April, the same day as the CTF final. The talks and the villages floor are day two.

How long is a workshop, and how many seats does it have?

The CFP asks for a 150 min workshop proposal. The exact timetable slot is set after selection; if it needs a different length, we ask the presenter before publishing it.

Room capacity and whether a reservation is needed are not settled. Both will be published with the programme.

Do I need to bring a laptop?

Assume yes, and assume the wifi is busy. Bring the charger as well. Anything a session needs installed in advance goes out with the programme so you are not downloading a virtual machine in the corridor.

Should I go to a workshop or a village?

A workshop has a fixed start time, a room and somebody teaching. A village runs the whole of day two, needs no sign-up at all, and you walk over when you feel like it. Several of the villages are more approachable than a workshop for a first conference, and because they are on the other day they clash with nothing here.

Will I have to choose between a workshop and the CTF final?

If you qualify, yes. The on-site final and workshops both run on Saturday 3 April. The online qualifier is separate and free; see the CTF page for entry details.

Can I propose a workshop if I have never taught at a conference?

Yes. Having taught it internally, at a college or in a Discord call counts as experience, and the review board would like to hear about it. Submit through the same call for papers as a talk and mark it clearly as hands-on so it is reviewed as one. If you are not sure whether the idea is a talk or a workshop, ask at [email protected] first. It is a five-minute conversation and it saves an afternoon.

Run one

You do not need a conference teaching résumé.

Teaching internally, at a college or in a community call counts as experience. Show the review board what people will be able to do by the end.

Submit through the talk CFP and mark it as hands-on. Plan for the 150 min format, then tell us what the room needs beyond participant laptops. We will confirm what is possible before anything is promised.

Not sure it is a workshop yet? Say so at [email protected] before you write it up. We can help you decide whether it belongs in the talk or workshop format.
